Can I sell animals made using your tutorials and patterns?

Yes, you can sell animals you make yourself, by hand, from my tutorials, YouTube videos, and patterns.

  • You cannot sell, redistribute, or rewrite the tutorials and patterns themselves. They are protected by copyright.
  • You cannot give the tutorials or patterns to another person to make the animals so you can sell them. You would need to purchase a license to do this.
  • You cannot use the tutorials or patterns to mass produce the animals using someone else’s hands, by machine, in a factory, as kits, or in any other form. You would need to purchase a license to do so.

But you can absolutely sell animals you make yourself, by hand, using my tutorials, videos, or patterns.

Personally, I choose to give credit to the creator when I sell or feature items I made using a tutorial. I keep it simple and include something like this:

Made following the “Fennec Fox” tutorial by Karen Landis
or
This design was made following a tutorial by Karen Landis

I add this on the back of my price tags at craft fairs, in item descriptions on Etsy, in gallery photos on my website, and on social media. While it would be lovely if you gave me credit in a similar manner, it is not required.
